Frequently Asked Questions...

I don’t know when my baby will arrive, how do I book a session date?

Once we have a quick chat and I take a holding deposit for your session, I place your due date in my diary and you become a priority booking. This ensures that when baby does arrive I have saved space within my diary to photograph your little one during those early weeks.

How old should the baby be for the session?

The ideal window is 4-14days old but as a recent mother myself I know how quickly the days and weeks pass before you get back into your rhythm, so this window can quickly pass. Do not panic…

My baby is over the two week ‘newborn threshold’, can I still book a session?

Please do! It is NEVER too late to have photos of your baby. The session may change slightly but I will always capture gorgeous photos of your little one, no matter what! The two week ‘newborn window’ is purely so babies are more naturally sleepy and can be positioned more easily. However all babies are different.

I have photographed a 3day old baby that stayed awake the whole time and a 9week old that curled up like she was brand new and slept for 2hours! You never know so don’t ever feel like you’ve missed your chance.

What happens if my baby doesn’t sleep?

My favourite saying… “all babies are different” (as mentioned above!).

Some babies arrive and sleep the entire session, some wake up and sleep in intervals and some stay awake the whole time.

There is never a session where a baby will be unsettled the whole way through... Ultimately, your baby runs the show and I will do all I can to ensure they are warm, cuddled, fed, comfortable and safe, this usually means they are happy and content and therefore I can capture beautiful photos of them...

Do I need to bring my own props to the studio?

All the baskets, chairs, bunting, flowers, ONE letters, letter blocks, headbands, bonnets, wraps are all available for my clients to use. If you wish to bring anything special along with you, please feel free!
Some people bring tutu’s or special outfits, baby tags, teddies or ultrasound pictures…

Can I bring a sibling to the newborn session?
Of course! They are part of the family and it is so lovely to see siblings interact with their new little brother/sister. Just let me know when you are booking your session as there is a small additional fee of £15.

How many colour options are there for a newborn session?

I always ask parents what colour scheme they would like and I then work within that colour palette for the session, with parents being able to be involved with choosing additional elements/props.

Are we able to have a family photo during our session?

Yes, definitely! Just let me know when you book your session.

If I didn’t want to choose one of your birthday themed backdrops could we do something else?

ABSOLUTELY! I am always interested to share ideas and if you have a special theme or just want a simple set up then please do not hesitate to chat it through with me!
